Kensa Heat Pumps has reaffirmed its position as the leading manufacturer and supplier of ground source heat pumps with a double win at the H & V News Awards 2013; the only company to achieve a double-win this year.
Celebrating alongside its clients at the prestigious affair hosted at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane, Kensa achieved awards in the following categories:
- (Winner) Retrofit Project of the Year – In association with Yarlington Housing Group;
- (Winner) Renewable Project of the Year – In association with New Linx Housing Trust;
Simon Lomax, Managing Director of Kensa Engineering, commented:
“Kensa’s ability to perform innovative and large scale installations has been recognised by our peers and it is a proud moment for the company. As the country’s largest ground source heat pump supplier, it is important that we continue to set an example to the remainder of the industry. Heat pumps are a particularly important technology in the South West because so many rural properties have no access to mains gas. Deployment of heat pumps can result in significantly lower energy bills and carbon.”
Kensa’s award for Retrofit Project of the Year recognised the landmark scheme with Yarlington Housing Group, which involved the installation of 200 ground source heat pumps in 90 days into social housing in Somerset.
Richard Prewer, Head of Property Maintenance at Yarlington Housing Group, commented:
“This remarkable award-winning project defines Yarlington’s commitment to listening to our tenants, who had voiced concerns over their previous night storage heaters. As the judges rightly concluded, ‘the end result brought real energy and cost savings and genuine improvements for tenants’ homes.’ It is rewarding that our efforts have been acknowledged by industry; they were certainly appreciated by our tenants.”
