Workshop: Innovation Forum – Climate Change

In this workshop, Kensa’s very own Ieman Barmaki, Kensa Contracting, Director of Low Carbon Partnerships, discussed the Public Sector Decarbonisation Fund, and the opportunity for ground source heat pumps.

Webinar: Scottish Retrofit Funding: How to make the most out of ground source heat pumps (2020)

Summary:

The Scottish Government announced £20 million of funding for registered social landlords and local authorities to install net-zero carbon heating (specifically heat pumps) in existing social housing stock. This webinar offered insight into the brilliant, unique opportunity to decarbonise existing housing stock in Scotland utilising grant funding.

Phil Brennan, Head of APSE Energy

Phil is responsible for the work of Association’s local authority energy collaboration. He has managed APSE Energy for 4 years and seen its membership grow from 40 to 110 members whilst expanding the range of services. He has worked with local authorities in the energy and renewables field since 2011 and has built up extensive knowledge about the sector


Matthew Black, Kensa Contracting, Business Development Manager (Scotland & North England)

Matthew has worked in renewable technologies for over 10 years. His passion is driving down carbon emissions, mitigating climate change, alleviating fuel poverty,

and improving the future of communities in Scotland.


Ieman Barmaki, Kensa Contracting, Director of Low Carbon Partnerships

Formerly Head of Asset Management and Sustainability at Enfield Council. Ieman helps local & regional government to achieve their 2030 Carbon reduction ambitions by developing innovative renewable heating projects within the social housing sector.
